Statement

CHURCH OF NOW took place at Genezarethkirche, Berlin, from 15 to 18 September 2022, during Berlin Art Week. Ole Ukena presented his work and curated a programme, inviting other artists and musicians into the exhibition.

Space Bloom / Weltraumblüte was commissioned for the church. The suspended work moved during the exhibition, while programmed lighting, fades and different daytime and evening modes changed its appearance.

The project brought together exhibition-making, the commissioned artwork, music, performance and workshops.
