OU | A BEGINNERS GUIDE TO BLUE WHALE VOCABULARY no floor.jpg

The series consists of 40 pieces with a size of 60x45cm forming a grid on the wall that seems closely related. If the act of painting and creating shapes is as well the discovery of an artists vocabulary then this series leaves an overview of what reoccurring elements shape that current book Ole Ukena is writing on. Handmade stitches creating long lines, curves and circles, organic, full of movement and endlessly intertwining. What would the vocabulary of a whale look like if his songs were to be directed into a visualisation program? Vast as the ocean itself the shapes keep certain elements the same while each being very distinctively its own just like the waves of the ocean that seem to have its very own presence while making up the ocean at large being linked together on the molecular level of H20.
