Series

The keystone series. Mandalic structures of eight chambers, drawn outward from a central point in one continuous chalk stroke. The hand attempts identical repetition; by the eighth chamber, drift from the first is unmistakable. Executed on reflective fabric — surfaces that refuse fixed perception, shifting with light, angle, and viewer position. Sameness and difference held in one form, made visible.

Begun in the early pandemic. Each work names a moment that the title refuses to explain. The series operates as an antidote to a year that demanded explanation by refusing it. Material: embroidered textile. Method: chalk-line drawn fast, translated by the Bali studio. Concept: a punchline that earns its title by withholding the joke.

Two works in deep blue gradient — the Multiverse mandala structure rendered at the threshold where color stops being depictive and starts becoming frequency. The eight-chamber rule remains; the visual rhythm shifts toward signal. Sister to Multiverse Reflection. Same operation, different register.

Three works in dark-light contrast pairs. The diptych operation runs across the series itself, not only within each piece. Beginning and ending compressed into one form; the middle work holds both.

Each title names two things the work refuses to choose between. The textile surface holds the ambiguity. Embroidered marks read as biological at one scale and cosmological at another. The viewer chooses which reading; the work supplies both.

Nine textile paintings, each a portrait of a state that does not exist. The series asks what a portrait would look like if its subject were grammatical rather than visual. The hand draws what the title names; the title names what cannot be drawn.

Cosmological field-notes rendered as textile. The series treats astrophysics as material — not subject matter but compositional logic. Where Multiverse iterates a mandala, this series iterates an observation.

The longest series. Thirty-nine works, each a compound word that does not exist in German but should. The title proposes that compound German nouns are a language adjacent to whale-song: structurally complex, semantically opaque, somehow fluent. The textile surface gives each word a body.
